When I last remodeled my dining room, I was looking for new art for the space – it’s been quite a journey, to be honest. Finding the perfect piece of art, whether it’s traditional fine art or other wall decoration, can be difficult. Initially, I tried existing plastic art from other areas of the home to see if it would work, but I quickly realized that new pieces were needed to enliven the space. So the search for new dining room wall decor begins…

For the wall behind the desk, I ultimately decided to use a set of prints from Urban Garden Prints. Since there is a lot of abstract stuff around me, I wanted to balance it out with some kind of imagery. I love birds and they had a beautiful set of herons which I ended up choosing! In many designs, you can actually customize the color you want – how neat is that? ! Each print is available in different sizes, so I ordered the largest size (30×60) of smoked oysters. You can simply purchase the print and frame it yourself, or you can pay to have them framed for you! I had them framed for me and they look great! I thought it would be nice to find an antique frame and do some DIY framing, but I couldn’t pass up the framing option for the specific print I ordered. Also, the idea of the artwork being “ready to hang” really helped convince me.
As you may have seen in previous posts, I paired it with these DIY pleated lampshades that I made myself.
