Decorating Walls In Living Room

Decorating Walls In Living Room – If you’ve been staring at a bare wall in your bedroom for a long time trying to decide what to do with it, one of these six living room wall ideas should help!

Do you have a big bare wall in your bedroom like mine? I don’t think every bare wall should be decorated, but I feel this one needs something. I just don’t know what’s going on! After searching for some inspiration, I’ve compiled six of my favorite wall decor ideas!

Decorating Walls In Living Room

To the right of the bare wall in the photo above you can see the solution I used to decorate the largest of the four walls in our bedroom – the art gallery wall! I used ten framed art prints in a flat space grid around our media console and TV:

My artwork is 18″ x 24″ cast iron framed artwork – you cannot purchase my clear frame separately (my art is pre-made) unless you need them that large.

This mesh-like gallery wall can be used as a large wall behind the sofa without removing the central frame, as well as for TV placement. You can also create a more attractive gallery wall like our home office. Check out my post on Gallery Wall Ideas for tips on making your own!

Another great option for large living room walls is to hang two or three large pieces of art.

I love this look, those enzymes are amazing! Look for a cheaper option if you can build a small frame yourself. I think it’s a neat idea to make a series of frames with one photo in a row, like a beach house:

This art is actually one of the final contenders for the blank wall in our blue and white guest room!

A large rug is a great living room wall idea because you can fill a large wall with one piece while adding color and texture to your space! You just have to pay attention to how the rug hangs because some rugs can give your home a more bedroom vibe, which might not be what you’re looking for. I like the more coordinated look of hanging with quilt hangers on a quilt hanger:

I’ve seen some great transformations with bookcases built into large bedroom walls, but if that’s out of your budget, a large freestanding bookcase is just what you need! Awesome:

It also comes in smaller widths and configurations that accommodate TVs. It is also possible to use the last two:

A large mirror can work beautifully on a bare living room wall, especially if it is opposite a window to reflect light into the room. Absolutely stunning, it has a very traditional design with an updated twist, so it looks good with a variety of decor styles:

Living rooms often have square pieces – coffee tables, TVs, media consoles, etc. I like the grouping of baskets of different shapes:

Here’s where I got this basket (my big one) that sits on our living room shelf in NC:

Instead of a bunch of small baskets, you can use only two or three large baskets.

I bought it to hang on the wall in our master bath and hang it here temporarily until we move our furniture in there, but I love it in this spot in our entryway! Our entryway is actually the next space I’m tackling – now that we don’t have a contractor going back and forth in the space, I’m finally ready to put up the wallpaper I’ve been putting off for over a year . . Be carefull…

So which blank wall solution is your favorite? I’m leaning toward making a group of baskets on a bare wall because not only do I love the look, but I feel like I’ll find a place to reuse them often in a future home. What do you think?
