Decoration Ideas For College Events – The first week of college is always scary. A new town, a new school and new people come together and it can be scary for any student. A building in Tampa wanted to take students away from the anxiety of the first week of school and welcome them to their new home with their daily routine by creating colorful and fun balloon decorations. We are delighted to join this project and welcome all new students to their new home. Bows in beautiful summer colors are the perfect choice for daytime activities. Not only was it a tool to point new students in the right direction to the recruiting office, but it also created an image for students and their families. Parents moving their first child away from home, students moving into their first residence, and students reuniting with their roommates for the semester are special moments that highlight and make the arch special. The “Welcome” paper balloons added an extra point and personal touch to the arch, which many students felt was an attention to detail that made them feel welcome and special.
Balloon arches are very versatile. They can be made in any shape, size and color to suit any event or special day. They are perfect for events that have a central location to tell guests where to go to register. They are also excellent centers. Many visitors take photos under the arch as a backdrop. Paper letters also make the arch more special for your event. Everything can be written from “congratulations” to “congratulations” for birthdays and even formal events like weddings. Let YTE Events & Balloon Decor work with you to design your event today with an arch to remember.

60 Best Graduation Party Ideas For 2024
Westside Elementary School in Spring Hill, Florida asked us to be a part of their special fiftieth anniversary! On anniversaries, certain achievements stand out and deserve recognition and celebration. When we heard that Westside Elementary School was turning fifty, we knew we had to do it… Last week we had our annual “Widows Party” at church (you may remember that we shared last year’s decorations here). This year’s theme was really cool, again I just wanted to share!I know some of you are like me and help decorate at various events, so I thought it would be good to keep this idea as something you can do in the future. Also, even though I participated in last year’s event, I can’t take any of these decorations This year the “Vintage School Days” theme was created entirely by my friend and her team of supporters, I had a great time attending and I know you will all enjoy seeing the decorations!
Everything was absolutely beautiful and the guests of honor seemed to thoroughly enjoy the evening. Anyone who wanted was asked to wear all their old school clothes, they had several old paper jackets around the room which were fun to look at.
This is the reception/registration desk. My friend made a balloon garland (this pump and this line of balloons do the same thing!) that hangs over the table.
He added nice vignettes at the end of the table, the open space in the middle was for checklists, etc.

He had a great idea to make paper chains to decorate it (tape it, not glue!) Some guys threw lights in our entrance and hung paper chains with them (it was hard to see. but the weather was nice, especially in the evening).
He hired a local friend who owns a company that makes custom billboards, props, etc. to make buses, banners, and separate 3D books. They were incredible!
He brought his stuff like an old bicycle that is often in his yard-ha!- (splattered with my favorite Meadow Green), paper jackets, moms, etc. to complete the scene.
For the table, he used grass cut into squares for the base, then a large jar filled with spider webs.
Spectacular Stage Balloon Decorations For Events
When people signed up, they were asked to send in old photos of themselves, printed out, stuck on pins and placed in vases. They had fun walking around and looking and trying to figure out who they were!
She also added plastic megaphones, pom poms, pennants (some vintage, some purchased, some made from patterned paper). Some brought yearbooks to use at the residence and we ransacked the church library to mix encyclopedias and books as well.
For entertainment, the quartet sang some old songs for some of the ministers, and then started with a medley of favorites. We also had pictures of some of the church workers when they were young, trying to find out who they were, and sharing the encouraging words of the pastor.
My friend asked me to set up a camera station and I did that, but it was easy to get carried away with the concept and the idea. Another friend had an old table that he brought over, and while I would have loved to have a table top with wheels, we didn’t have one. Instead, I took a dry chalkboard from the church classroom and covered it with black paper to mimic a worn blackboard, then wrote on it with chalk. Most of the books I used were my dad’s old college books!

TIP: Spraying hairspray on the carving or lettering helps seal it in so it doesn’t tangle! I was worried that people standing too much would step on and smudge the letters, and this trick worked like a charm. The paper will darken when sprayed, but don’t worry, you won’t notice it at all when it dries. This works on paper or whiteboard, wipe with a damp cloth if you want to clean the design on the whiteboard. (This is a screenshot of the video, but you get the idea!)
My beloved nieces and nephews are in the group of students serving/waiting in the evening. They are using it as a fundraiser for an upcoming mission trip. There is a jar on the table if people want to donate, the money collected is distributed and added to the travel account of the students who worked that evening.
As a festive party favor, all guests could choose an old-fashioned chalkboard or lunch box decoration to take home as a memento of the evening.
Here are some things that might help if you’re planning your own Vintage School Days event!
