Clothes are perfect for home decor… I mean, do we choose these clothes because we like how they look good? They are beautiful, colorful, interesting patterns, textures and shapes… why not use them to decorate?
I have a coat hanging on the closet door and I have a couple of hats that look great.
I have many jumpers that I hang here. They were too tall to fit in my closet so I thought why not just display them?
There are two items of clothing on this chair, a scarf and a pink poncho draped over his back.

I think the key here is to keep it from looking… well… just add a closet full of clothes, a basket to hold other things, a device case, and a box.
And the same thing with jewelry! Display them in trays and baskets and add perfume bottles, metal, glass or wooden boxes, leather bags, etc. Mix with other things like this.
Oh baby!!! After seeing this, I am now convinced that I need glass shelves in my room! 😍

I think this look works really well with an eclectic boho look that’s kind of thrown and uneven, and using fabrics to add color, texture and more interest and fun.
I hope these ideas will make you think again about your clothes… Have you gone into your closet and looked at them with good eyes? . I have created 3 easy DIY home decor ideas using only one piece of fabric. My husband was gone for a day and I really felt some tension 😆. I hope you dig the fabric I used and best of all – try one of these simple ideas in your own home.
The fig leaves cost $10 and were very small when I bought them at home. Direct light and water every 7 days – the same.
If you have been following along for the past 10 years, you may remember these beautiful traditional chairs that I got from my grandfather (there are two chairs). I have reconnected them 8 times in my life. I learned how to easily change fabric by watching my dad do it, and my older brother did it many times. It’s like most convertible fabrics, but what can I say – we like to have fun 😊.

You will not find a long boring reupholstering tutorial here, because these chairs are ridiculously easy to reupholster. I just cut a square slightly larger than the seat (which just sticks out) of whatever fabric I choose and wrap it up like a gift. This factory quick change is secured with a light duty style with a rigid pistol/grip.
I like to overlap my fabrics on the seat. You never know when you’ll want to go back to your old factory.
Lucky for me, I bought 2 yards of fabric ($45 with delivery) and had extra for some fun. At first I thought of a round pillow, but it turned out to be a lovely “lumbar” pillow. I can’t get over how cute this pillow is using just glue (see more instructions below).
To make this cute little lumbar pillow, I don’t measure, or sew anything. I put 2 layers on top of each other inside (in the shape I want) and stick the edges with this glue and open it a little to fill it.

After the edges were dry (24 hours), I turned them all “right side out” inside out, sanded them (see photo below) and filled the small holes I made with a pillowcase (I used an old pillowcase I just cut it. . Some stuff).
The last step is to seal the hole with more glue. A long piece of my hand held it in place while it dried for a few hours before I took a picture of it for you.
Have you reached this flower factory yet? When my husband left home (he works from home now 🙌🏻) I had a total accident and started packing things I didn’t even know I needed. OK, so a small table runner is dangerous or a must in our house right now, but don’t those nuts and olives make you hungry? Rick comes home and wonders if he can find 😊.
Honestly… the way it turned out was that I only had one piece left over and I loved the fabric so much that I didn’t want to ruin it. I just flipped it over, wrapped the corners (tape to measure notes) until the piece was even, then put it back. No glue needed-heck I might make napkins one day 😲.
Outdoor Decor Ideas For Fall
To add some personal details ❤️, I added my husband’s mom on the table (I know he misses her so much and I do too), and the elephant is my mom who we miss, but hopefully later. Rick and I love sharing stories from our past lovers, so this was the perfect day for a fun snack for us. By the way, the candle holders are from thrift stores and the marble “cheese plate” is leftover from a bathroom remodel. This is where to find battery operated remote controlled candles.
There is more! I invite you to grab some peppers, olives and cheese and visit the girls on the Thrifty Style team below to see some great summer ideas while saving tons of money…

Fabric Flower Vase For Home Decor Diy
I am saddened to hear that our talented and dear friends Michelle and Paula, both long time members of our Thrifty Style team, both passed away at the end of last month.
I recently described Michelle as “right handed” a few years before her illness. Not only is she talented with her beautiful designs, but she is very helpful behind the scenes as well. Michelle is not only here on the Thrifty Style team with her coding skills, but also on the blog. She helped me with technical things that I didn’t know how to solve and I showed a lot of confidence. Again…Michelle was very fair and her true colors shone through every time we exchanged messages. I will miss her dearly.
I have no words to describe how hard it is to lose two of my closest friends. I think our dear friend, Paula, who showed so much grace in her illness, would tell me…”Don’t worry, Julie. I’m fine, and you just need to keep dressing.”
Paula… our dear friend, I know you are there! You were so kind and talented, we will miss you so much. We will keep you, our friend Michelle, in our thoughts and prayers, along with all of your family. A photo booth is great for any event. It’s fun and interactive for your guests to participate in, and you can preserve all the great memories through digital photos and physical prints.
