Design And Technology Primary Ideas – Explore the story we have this term. We have been exploring school sites using map analysis as part of our geography study. We studied the famous explorers of the past and we were particularly interested in Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong so we decided to know more about their lives, comparing the two lives and their explorations and we are studying history.

Our study of Neil Armstrong sparked an interest in space so I read one of my favorite books called ‘Man on the Moon (a day in the life of Bob)’ written by Simon Bartram for children.

Then I challenged the children to design and build a moon wagon that would help Bob do his job on the moon! First, the children examined some cars and cars to see how they were made. They compared it to the pictures we had been looking at of lunar vehicles and discussed the differences.
