Design Concept Example In Architecture – An architectural design concept template serves as a starting point or framework for architects to visually integrate and present design ideas and plans to clients. It provides a structured format with sections and placeholders that can be customized to fit the architect’s specific project.
Images, videos, you can combine links and text to really bring your ideas to life. Creating a dynamic vision for your project is simple, and with integrated image search, you can find the perfect image without leaving your board.

Moodboards don’t have to be static anymore, there’s so much more than the best pictures. When creating mood boards, videos, animated GIFs; colored area; PDF, design files; Easily add fonts and more.

Getting content is easy—just drag or paste any image (or website) into your boards. But to make it easier, images for your boards from any website you visit. You can install Web Clipper to save videos or links instantly. Available for Chrome and Safari.
The right images can make or break a moodboard, and finding them is half the job. So it integrates with Pexels to give you instant access to a huge library of free professional photos to drag and drop into your boards.
Whether you’re creating a mood board with others or need someone’s approval, commenting, sharing, and notifications make collaboration easy. Architectural concepts are the backbone of the entire design. But coming up with a concept can be difficult for an architecture student. This article simplifies the “concept” of an architectural concept or idea.
A concept is an idea; A principle or concept. Assumptions in architecture provide a direction or approach to design.

Architectural concepts are the backbone of the overall design. The design is unified by creating a cohesive story. Sometimes architecture students think that design expresses a concept. However, this is not true. Concepts are like maps and help you when you are lost. Additionally, assumptions are subject to change by design and are not set in stone.
For students, it’s hard to get started. They often spend more time than necessary. Therefore, we will try to simplify the process of creating architectural concepts. In this step, the advantages of the software and its disadvantages will also be presented.
Architectural design is an evolutionary process. So, project data – project summary; requirements; It is best to start small by adding site information etc. By doing this, you will direct yourself to the design material.
Then analyze the information in front of you. Before you start doodling, take some time to analyze the site and understand the brief well. The study will give you some immediate challenges – a cliff in the middle of the plot; strong winds; Sandy soil, southwest view etc. will be provided. Primarily, we break the design problem down to its bare bones to simplify it.

These findings are the starting point of a design concept. You can use one or more of these findings to come up with a design idea. For example, it faces the building; Maybe a different method for molding or lining. It can also be a description of a building or a representation of a particular place. There are no rules. So sketch or write your thoughts. Don’t worry about the details – each idea is a unique path for a concept to explore and solve a design problem.
The next step is to develop and refine the concept(s) into a coherent narrative. We created many different possibilities in the previous step, but this step is all about elimination; It is about integration and development. Choose an idea that suits you best and create it.
Concept development is not particularly linear. So there are ways to go about the development phase. For example, design philosophy; cultural orientation; neighborhood construction materials; personal experience; Ideas can be borrowed from secondary reference points such as geometry. These elements help differentiate your design from others.
If it makes sense, ideas from the first phase of research can be added. Continue until the concept takes shape and is ready to be tested.

However, some architects hesitate at the idea of using software for concept development. It has played an important role in modern times. Many young architects are the new generation; Experimenting with computer or programming design; We have our own guide to computational design here.
In the early stages of design; Software should help design development, not hinder it. Choosing the wrong tool can limit your design process. Architects often turn to programs like SketchUp or Rhino for their fluid modeling capabilities. They help visualize the idea to some extent and also give you visual feedback. At this stage You may find yourself switching back and forth between 3D modeling and sketching. This is perfectly fine and sometimes even necessary.
However, you should be aware of the drawbacks of using software for early-stage design. We have already said that it can be restrictive. But the bigger problem is that existing tools are not designed with architects in mind, but are accepted for lack of better tools. They are disconnected from the architect’s tools such as AutoCAD or Revit and do not provide the intelligent feedback in the form of data that many have come to expect with increasing knowledge in BIM. That’s why they are called “dumb styles”.
These are some of the reasons we created it. It provides powerful modeling capabilities and data. You can get ideas quickly without worrying about technical accuracy, quantity, area detail; Get real-time feedback on concepts like weather and more. You can also invite your teacher to model for design review or work in competitions with your peers. But I’ll leave you to check them out in time.

The bottom line is that software can be incredibly useful in the early design stages when used correctly. You don’t want a tool that kills your design, but the other way around.
We’ve seen that conceptual design doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s the starting point for a simple design journey – a small idea that eventually leads to something extraordinary. Remember that the most important thing is the journey, not the destination. Design is ever-changing and there are many ways to solve a problem. keep reading

In this post I share an example design concept I created a few years ago for a client in SketchUp and Layout.
Simple Guide To Architectural Concepts For The Architecture Student
A few weeks ago I shared a complete set of design documents on SketchUp and Layout (which you can view here ), and it’s currently one of the top posts on my blog. I think you would like to see more example documents.
A design concept is usually the first (or very soon) set of documents I send to a client.
With the project below I first did the space planning phase of the project: getting my clients to agree on the original layout/floor plan they wanted (before creating it all in 3D).
Before creating documents, the next step is to design the home or project within SketchUp.
Iso/iec/ieee 42010: Conceptual Model
Below is a snapshot of the SketchUp file tracing for the project I’m sharing in the design concept below.
With this particular project I created the project in 3D with little detail, which I don’t always do for the concept phase of design because I ran out of time.
At this stage I am not sure if I am building in block (simple) form or not. It really depends on whether or not we can decide whether or not to make a more elaborate version of the gene at this stage. I had a clear client for this project so I did quite a bit of actual wardrobe design as you can see in the design concept below.
I just want to point out that I don’t always do that. The key is to make sure you get paid for the time it takes to go into these details at the concept stage. This is the level of detail I usually do as part of the documentation phase of my projects – just to be clear 🙂
