Every designer to my knowledge has experienced these tragic situations at some point during their career. And some people go through it again and again.
My experience is that most of these unfortunate situations can be avoided with careful planning and properly structured discussion during the design process. There’s no guarantee that your favorite idea will make it through the decision-making process. But at least they will lose a fair fight.

The 5 Stages In The Design Thinking Process
I may have strayed a bit from some of the original ideas. And interpret my model based on my experience. So for someone who is already intimately involved with The Vision-based model, please excuse my correction.
It all comes down to aligning your design proposal with your vision and goals when presenting your design ideas at a low level (see Non-Artist Guidelines).
Above is the model whose transition you need to specify. The example I used is more structured and more marketing related. But it can easily be applied to a more practical product design process, for example directing a discussion about the visual quality of your product and what mental model you want to convey to consumers.
Remember, this is more than just a presentation format. If you don’t use this model or way of thinking and structure your design process, it’s also highly unlikely that the retrofit will be done before the stakeholder meeting. So, when designing, make sure you can always connect your decisions and ideas to a higher level.

Empathy, including their experiences and motivations, is essential to problem solving and human-centered design processes. Because it lets design thinkers let go of their assumptions about the world. And gain real insight into customers and their needs.

You will need to gather a lot of information to use in the next steps. It depends on time constraints. The main goal of the Empathize stage is to develop the best possible understanding of your customers. Their needs and the problems behind developing the product or service you want to create.
In the define phase, you organize the information gathered during the focus phase. You will analyze your observations to determine the key issues that you and your team have identified so far. Problem formulation and problem statement should be human centered.
For example, you shouldn’t describe a problem as a company need or desire: “We need to increase our food product market share among teenage girls to 5%.”
You should formulate a problem statement based on your understanding of the user’s needs: “Adolescent girls need to eat nutritious food to thrive. Stay healthy and grow.”
Concept + Planning Design
The define process helps the design team gather great ideas. To create features, functions, and other elements to solve problems that occur or, at least, that allow real users to solve them themselves with minimal difficulty, in this step, you Start moving to the third stage. Which is the thinking stage. Where you ask questions to help find solutions: “How can we encourage teenage girls to take action that benefits them and includes your company’s food-related products or services? “
Ideate: The third stage of design thinking. In which you identify innovative solutions to the problem statement you have created.
During the third stage of the design thinking process, designers are ready to generate ideas. You better understand your customers and their needs in the Empathize phase, and you analyze your observations in the Define phase.
