Design Ideas For Empty Wall – I have to get this out of the way: historically, I’ve never really figured out how to decorate the big, blank walls that surround the corner of every home. As a design writer and former interior decorator, I feel like I should have found the answers to this a long time ago. What do you want a wall?! How can I decorate you?

A few weeks ago I moved into a new house and decided enough was enough. I needed an arsenal of tips and tricks for this very life-threatening situation. I took to the internet to find clever solutions and today I’m sharing the treasure. First, find six ways to decorate an empty wall in your home, whether you have the money or next to nothing. (I’ll let you guess which camp I’m in.)

This solution is perfect when you have a collection of travel or family photos that you want to display, but you don’t want your home to look like a 90s scrapbook. To keep the look neat and cohesive, choose to print all images in black and white and display them as a grid with parallel frames.

If you have a significant budget but little or no time, this decorating option is ideal – you don’t have to spend a lot of time collecting materials, making frames or checking that everything fits. Just pick a style you like, call the Rabbit Activity wizard to install it, and put your feet up while enjoying the view!

If you’re short on time or serious cash (me), I’d recommend adopting minimalism and sticking to a blank wall. Negative space is actually an important design feature, which feels simple and intentional when mixed with reduced materials and minimal colors and patterns.

Some people say that the gallery wall is “out”, but those people are very, very wrong. In my humble opinion, the key to a gallery show is to take wall size seriously: take the art from floor to ceiling instead of filling one small section, and don’t be afraid to stick to the medium.

Use an empty wall as a place to post your personal items or hobbies. Hang your equipment, display the glass collection you got as an antique, or finally display the vintage maps you’ve been hoarding for years. If you have something unusual in your life that you love, go ahead and let your flag of faith fly.

Ah, the magical moment when style meets function. A long row of wall shelves provides space to add interesting artistic inclinations, vintage finds and artwork, while providing plenty of additional storage space for boxes and bowls that are well rounded and finished. I’ve lived in new buildings that tend to have this problem (new buildings tend to be big white boxes), but white, boring, bare walls can be a problem wherever we live. Don’t get me wrong – having a big place to play is great, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. So – we’re going to talk to you about some options to improve our bare walls!

Art is probably the most obvious choice; it is quick, easy and interchangeable to decorate our walls. But – when faced with a large space, sometimes adding art of the wrong size can only make the problem worse; so small that they seem to float by themselves and almost make the space seem bigger and smaller.

Of course, you can purchase large pieces of art to fill the space, but another option is to group artwork together to create a large space on another bare wall. Whether it’s two identical prints paired together, or small scattered prints, or a gallery wall, art is a great way to liven up a space.

Adding wardrobes is a great way to break up wall space and also allows us to mix things up if you’re changing up your interior like I am. I’m a firm believer in displaying the things you love in your home, whether it’s art, plaques, photos, candles, plants, or general knick-knacks (or “random art” as the other part of me likes to call it), You can use them to fill your walls .
