60 Men’s Bedroom Design Ideas
Disclaimer: Now I know that terms like ‘child’s bedroom’ are a bit old fashioned. But to be fair, many of these ideas are hollows created for real men. So, while we appreciate that they may not apply to all men (and some women may like the look), we will make some assumptions of masculine style based on our experience.
You don’t have to use dark colors to create a masculine vibe, but it’s an easy way to achieve a moody look and feel. Start with a basic palette of gray, white, brown and black on the board in varying amounts, and you can place accent colors on top in brighter shades.
A white scheme is great, of course, but don’t be afraid of dark black walls, gray walls or deep blue. Sometimes a white wall just won’t give you the depth you want.
You’ve used neutral colors as a base, but now you need to add some accents through bedroom decor like a blanket or artwork. Cooler tones like navy blue or forest green are great dark colors and will add interest to a space.
Before & After: Upscale Men’s Bedroom Design
Not into a cooler color palette when it comes to bedroom accents? Don’t be afraid! Warm tones like walnut and mustard are also great. You can display walnut in wooden furniture such as a bedside table, while mustard can be seen in a set of bedspreads or blankets or artwork.
If you’re afraid of going too dark with fresh coats of paint all over the walls, then feature walls are your friend. Even just one wall a shade darker than the wall in the rest of the room will bring interest to the space.
Painting a wall like this requires no effort and is great if you need an impact on a budget. It also costs very little.
As you can see above, panels can also add texture and extra interest, but are more expensive.

A feature wall for a man’s bedroom is one thing, but color effects can take it to the next level. There are many colors you can use here, but my top tip is to apply concrete color effects. It will make your walls more rough, rustic, and make the space more masculine.
Bed frames for men’s bedrooms always look cleaner. What I like is that it’s not the elaborate and ornate style you see in women’s bedrooms.
Instead of a fancy headboard with plated buttons, it looks simpler. A soft gray fabric frame, a wood frame with a warmer tone, or one with leather straps or piping details are good alternatives.
Leather in someone’s bedroom can be tastefully done, I promise. It doesn’t scream ‘singles register’ if you do it right. For modern people, less is more.
The Beauty Of A Masculine Bedroom Decor
I like leather strips on the headboard, or some leather ottomans or bench seats at the foot of the bed. Dark shades not only add to the mood, but the material has an undeniably masculine look.
To balance the warm leather and walnut wood, it would be wise to introduce concrete. Now, I love my large concrete wall in the space as mentioned above, and highly recommend it if you want the room to feel a little more bleak.
Alternatively, consider concrete decorations on nightstands or dressers if you can’t do anything en masse.
As I said at the beginning of this post, I don’t want to stereotype men, but those who designed their bedroom in the past liked plants through flowers on nightstands and chests of drawers.
Bedroom Ideas: Create The Ideal Space
Flowers can feel a bit bright, bold and a bit feminine. A cactus, succulent, Boston fern or mother-in-law are all good plant choices.
I’m a full bed person, don’t get me wrong (that’s how you do a stunning full look), but when it comes to people’s bedrooms that are only for people, I tend to throw in fewer throw pillows, throw pillows and decoratives. blankets
Most people I know don’t like super-draped beds. However, a set of duvet covers, sets of sheets and then one throw and maybe a lumbar pillow is enough.
We know the bed will feature clean lines, so it’s a good idea to introduce a bedside table or two with an industrial effect. which can go through a table with visible wood grain, rustic wood that is hard to touch, or even a table with metal legs or metal handles.

In a small room, feel free to keep it industrial if you like the vibe, but reduce the size and size of the bedside table to maintain a spacious area. You can choose, for example, a round metallic side table without drawers.
Outside of industrial design for men’s bedrooms, mid-century modern is another style. He is handsome in character and evokes a masculine feeling. The style includes warm wooden furniture with pointed legs, interesting lighting with metallic details and is not afraid of bold patterns to boot.
Wall art in a person’s bedroom tends to be moodier, more focused. In other places where there is a couple or a woman alone, you may look more delicate, flowery and colorful.
But in a man’s bedroom I like the idea of letting the artwork rule. Or sometimes even a little weird. Experiment here but always aim for the art to make a statement or add impact.

I nickel or brushed brass to style people’s bedrooms when I decorate. You can easily insert metal like this through the base of floor lamps, or in lamps such as pendants or wall sconces. The table lamp above also shows well.
There are many industrial and mid-century modern lamps that feature this finish and they would work well in a masculine bedroom scheme.
When decorating a man’s bedroom, you want to include patterns, of course, but you want to be more graphic. But I mean, you want to look for geometric shapes, angular prints, and even tribal influences. The image above is a good example of this idea.
Keep soft, floral and atomic prints for women’s spaces and let some more structured patterns take center stage in men’s bedrooms.
Men’s Bedroom Ideas In 2024
Men’s rooms tend to be more functional. A male client I was working with wanted a useful bed base. Things like an alarm clock, a glass of water, maybe a plant or a picture frame.
You don’t want to clutter the table too much with useless decorations, but you also don’t want it to be barren.
I find you can strike the perfect balance here if you have three main items on your bed that are practical yet impressive.
As you can see, you want some nice abstract art in someone’s bedroom, but you don’t want the rest of the artwork in the space to be the same. When you do that, things get a little competitive visually.

Not everyone will want a vintage piece of furniture in a room, but I’ve found that a lot of people don’t mind something with a sense of history and history in the space. It can be a larger piece of furniture like a chair, or something smaller.
Smaller pieces can be vintage prints on the wall, trays for placing watches and sunglasses, or even vintage lamps on the wall.
