Design Ideas For Small Bathroom – My bathroom was my latest little project in the house, even though it’s only small there were so many things that were really frustrating about it and I decided it was time to tidy it up and make it more pleasant. little space. It’s by no means perfect and there are still things I’d like to change like the toilet, sink and bathroom vanity, but so far I’m pretty happy with how it turned out on a very tight budget! So before the big changes were made, I did try to dress it up a bit with a nice bath rug and baskets from homesense – but to be honest, there was just no escaping the ugly gray vinyl, was there? I hated it so much! And those bathroom faucets, I hate separate bathroom faucets and much prefer a faucet. I also didn’t like that the only shower head (what’s that even called?) is attached to the wall, making it difficult to rinse the tub, wash your hair if you’re in the tub instead of showering, and how to rinse the Ru off. Not ideal when you have a little one and are washing them regularly due to diaper explosions when they’re covered in glitter and paint… well, if you’re a mom, you’ll understand!

The biggest change I made was to finally say goodbye to that ugly vinyl. My absolutely gorgeous bathroom tiles are from Verona. These are Goia ceramic wall and floor tiles and I am simply in love with them. I remember once they sent me a vinyl sample with a beautiful tile pattern and I really wanted to one day have a bathroom with such a beautiful floor covering – and I can safely say that my dreams have come true. I only have a small bathroom so it didn’t cost too much to put them in and the guy did a great job. If you are local to York and ever want a plumber/tiler recommendation, please contact me! As for the tiles themselves, Verona has such a nice collection of tiles and I noticed three different designs. I knew I liked them best, but I got family opinions and they agreed, so that was it! I love the fact that Goia tiles are both floor and wall tiles, if my walls weren’t already tiled I would totally put them on the walls too. The sample images on their website are so beautiful.

The tiles have a matte finish, not a glossy finish, so they’re not slippery at all, which is great when little ones are running around. And for some reason he likes to jump out of the tub! They are also easy to apply with a spray cloth and I just couldn’t be happier with how they look in my small bathroom. The pattern is just stunning and really makes a statement, they are nice and bright which is perfect for such a small space but also has enough detail to give it that ‘wow’ factor. I’ve already had a lot of people ask me where they’re from because everyone loved them in real life and when I shared the clips on insta! I’m enjoying my evening soaks a lot more now…is that weird? I took everything out of the bathroom (obviously) to do the floor, so after it was all done I had an empty shell to decorate with, which was a lot of fun. I already bought storage and things from ikea a few weeks ago but I was missing things like plants, prints, bathroom mirrors, etc. Next month I will be working with Desenio on a blog post that you will see after that. , but for this collaboration I chose a couple of prints for the bathroom that I put over the vanity. I was originally going to put them side by side, but they look much better this way and I’m really happy with them! I chose black frames to contrast with the white walls and chose some photos of dried grass that I thought would go well with the bathroom. My baskets are from Homesense, as mentioned I have a few in my storage units and then I have one on the floor that I use for dirty laundry. I have a laundry basket but it never sits there and I don’t have room for one of those tall laundry baskets so I thought just a nice little wicker basket would do and it’s good for carrying laundry downstairs. Plus it looks cuuuuuute.
I added a few plants for a splash of greenery, the plant in the corner next to the toilet (is that a yucca?) was a Lidl find and was only a fiver so I’m delighted. I already had an empty pot at home that it fit perfectly in, so it was a match made in heaven. They are real, by the way! The one on the toilet is a fake plant from Homesense, you might recognize it as it’s usually on my bedside table, but it’s a temporary solution until I can find something to replace it with. Still, I think it looks nice and fills a niche I would never have thought to fill, if that makes sense? Adding coir logo mats to the bathroom entrance would also be a good choice as door mats can add extra style and help with hygiene. My bathroom mirror is beautiful and would you believe it’s only £18 from Dunelm. I got mine for even less, there is a small chip on the side so it was reduced to £10 and it was the only one they had so I took the solid one. You can’t even see the chip! It is a vintage beveled mirror. Oh, and I really liked the ones I saw at the Royal Baths!
I really think it’s amazing what a difference something like a second bathroom faucet can make! Not only is the mixer literally so much more comfortable (seriously), but I also went with the traditional one, and let’s face it, it’s pretty, right? I found this little gem at Screwfix for such a reasonable price and it didn’t disappoint. Even the “hot” and “cold” text on the faucets is in a nice handwritten font, which I didn’t expect to look anywhere near as nice as it actually is! These pictures don’t actually show the font, but some of the other faucets I’ve looked at look a little off. It’s all about the little things, right? I’d love to pair it with a tub with a curtain, but for now I’ll settle for it…let the comfy bath rug fix! Farmhouse Bathroom Decor Ideas
I think you can see in the pictures how small my bathroom is, it doesn’t need to be any bigger as it does the job perfectly, but when it comes to storage it can be a little annoying. I went to ikea to see what I could find and came across the RAGRUND bookcase which was perfect. It had to be a fairly specific width, as seen in the pictures above, it had to fit between the edge of the bathroom and the radiator. I also really liked the VILTO shelf, but it was annoyingly wide by a couple of cm! Anyway, the RAGRUND shelf is actually longer, so there’s more storage space, and it’s made of bamboo, so it blends perfectly with the warmth of the wall tiles. The wall above the radiator is a little empty, but it has a door that opens, and in the house only Ru & I don’t close that much, so I didn’t see the point of filling that space. I filled the shelf with some baskets I found at Homesense and now I have a place to store all my toiletries! I also put a wall shelf on the other wall with another Homesense basket that has more sections and sides and then just strips next to it.
