The act of writing, thinking, can be a part of the process of reduction. This process can help avoid some problems on projects that are quickly completed and solve problems that the designer/researcher inevitably has to deal with.
This is especially true if we think back to those crazy, twelve months, when many people’s lives were turned upside down. Writing in a reflective journal during this time helped me keep my perspective. Even after more than twenty years of experience in personal design, I still find that reflecting on my thinking and processes gives me great value.
