Just like campers decorate their campsites, many cruisers decorate their cabin doors! We’ve seen a lot of cruise door decorations on many different cruise lines, but it looks like Disney Cruise Line ships definitely take the cake.
You can decorate your cabin door with magnetic decorations (all doors on Disney Cruises are metal, except for the wooden doors of the concierge cabins on the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish). Duct tape would also work if you don’t have magnets in your decorations.
One of our favorite Disney Cruise things are personalized Disney Cruise magnets. I actually make our own magnets. I use my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out, shape them with Canva or PicMonkey, and laminate them before putting on the glue covered magnets.
You can also use magnetic printable paper and print your images on simple magnets using your home printer.

After our first Disney cruise, I knew I wanted fun Mickey head magnets for all of us to use on future cruises. I found a seller on Etsy and asked for the specific heads I wanted – 1 larger family and 4 smaller ones with our names on them. When planning an Alaskan cruise with our grandparents, I also ordered a smaller cruise for them. They’ve been hidden away for 2 long years, waiting for their big debut!
We were celebrating my mom’s birthday on our first cruise and I wanted a special magnet. After browsing the web for ideas, I used my Silhouette to make one for her. Cutting designs from cardboard. Then hand paint the dots onto the “Minnie” skirt. Finally, I laminated the entire design and glued the magnets to the back.
