It’s quite surprising that despite the wide range of colorful characters and all the cinematic magic of the past 7 decades, Disney’s funny mascot Mickey Mouse remains the most popular among children around the world. Mickey themed rooms for children’s bedrooms always top the trend charts and are a really easy theme to work on. From Mickey’s murals to his list of friends including Donald and Pluto, Mickey and friends can easily transform those boring old walls into a fun backdrop for a kid’s room.

One advantage you have with Mickey-themed rooms is the color scheme, which includes bright reds, blacks to anchor the decor, and yellows. If you’re still young at heart, you’ll love this approach!

See that layered gallery wall above the table? I shared how to make your own a few months ago — it’s super easy! They were using stuff I had hanging in the basement of the old house, but that was replaced with this project. 🙂

This was actually my son’s idea — he found some great vintage Disney prints online and asked to use them in our home.

We have a small Disney-inspired wall in the loft, but it was so unique, I wanted to create more of a focal point. So I decided to put them on top of this table.

My son and I chose nine prints to use on this wall and bought inexpensive Ribba frames from Ikea. They look great!:

They have a ton of color, but mostly a vintage vibe that ties them together. We’ve picked our favorite rides/experiences at Disney including the Tower of Terror, Monorail and Splash Mountain. 🙂

We’re still waiting on two prints, so we filled those frames with a free Peter Pan print that a store sent us and an Epcot print. Our son was so excited when we closed them all! We all love:

I may eventually add art lighting like my office to illuminate these! I just love them. I wanted to add some color to this space and this is the perfect way to do it.

It can be hard to add whimsical touches like this without feeling too themed… but there are ways to tie in places and things your family loves. Even if I am the mouse and all his friends. 😉
