If the weather forecast calls for rain during your visit to a Disney Park, a poncho can make a big difference. The rain will clear the crowd, but if you’re prepared, it doesn’t have to stop the fun. Throw on a poncho and take advantage of all the short lines! It’s very light and folds up small, so it’s easy to store in your backpack. There are sizes for adults and children, so everyone is covered! If you don’t want to get wet, you can also put it on before getting on the water.
Fans are especially important when visiting Disney World outside of winter. Trust me, you’ll be glad you have it. Double the price if you wait and buy it in the park! Fill them with water for a gentle mist to cool you down. I will buy 2 fans for 4 families. It was also great for our baby while in the stroller. We can pick him up or hold him to give him a cool breeze while he sleeps and we wait for the older kids to do their rides.
If your little one likes meeting the characters, they’ll definitely want to bring an autograph book! This can make a fun souvenir filled with the signatures of all the fun characters they meet. I like to use retractable Sharpies for pencils. I love the way the black marker looks on the paper compared to a regular ballpoint pen. Retractable is great for characters with large gloves/hands. Instead of cracking with the hood, they can just press a button.

You can keep it on a lanyard to keep it easily accessible. So you don’t have to dig into your pocket/wallet every time you need to use it.
One of the best tips for saving money on a Disney vacation is to buy souvenirs in advance! Yes, I know it sounds kind of funny, but trust me when I say that this is a really cool trick, especially for little kids. Buying toys in advance, outside of the park, will save you a lot of money. By having one or two on hand, you can strategically pull them out when you need something to crush the “I want” or entertain the kids while waiting in line or waiting for a show.
Another way to use toys is to place them in the room as a surprise. We do this by taking the kids out of the room and then sending my husband back because he “forgot” something. He came back and pulled out a plush toy from the suitcase he had hidden and placed it on the bed. When the children returned to the room, they were amazed!

Bandages are a good thing to wear while in the park. You never know when someone’s foot is going to trip and break a knee or get a blister from all the walking. There are first aid stations at each park, but having one will make it easier to get immediate and on-the-go repairs. Put a bandage and some Neosporin in a ziplock bag and put it in your backpack or diaper bag.
