Designing a modern bedroom with a European theme will add a touch of elegance and luxury to your room. Here are some tips to help you create a modern European-inspired bedroom design:

European Bedroom Design Ideas

Color palette: Choose a neutral color palette with soft colors like whites, creams and grays as a base. The colors create a clean and quiet background for the room. You can add pops of color through decorations and artwork.

Furniture: Choose furniture with clean lines and minimalist design. European style furniture often features sleek finishes and simple yet elegant shapes. Invest in a comfortable and stylish bed with a curved headboard or canopy for a touch of luxury.

Materials: Luxury materials should be used in bedroom design. Curtains, furniture and bedding can all benefit from the addition of velvet, silk or linen. The materials give depth and texture to the room, enhancing the European feel.

Decorative details: Increase the sense of grandeur by incorporating intricate decorations. As examples of decorative components, consider intricate moldings, chandeliers and mirrors. The appearance of the room will be improved and a European twist will be given with the help of the accessories.

Statement Pieces: Use iconic items that capture the spirit of European style to make a statement. Think about getting a vanity or armoire that has a vintage look to add some class and style to the room. These one-of-a-kind items can be a showpiece anywhere.

Artwork and Decor: Decorate the space with works of art and decorative items that pay homage to European culture. Consideration should be given to subject appropriate historical artwork such as paintings, sculptures and embroidery. Decorative mirrors, crystal vases and porcelain figurines are examples of decorative items that can be included to increase the level of luxury.

Lighting: To brighten up your property, choose some chic lighting fixtures. To make the room more attractive, you can install a beautiful chandelier or classic wall sconces. The right lighting, including task, ambient and accent lighting, can help set the mood for you.

Flooring: Opt for hardwood or parquet flooring for a truly European feel. If you prefer a softer touch, a luxurious rug with intricate patterns can add warmth and texture to the space.

Remember, the key to designing a modern European themed bedroom is to strike a balance between elegance and simplicity. Add these elements while personalizing the space to make it your own. Enjoy the process of creating a European-inspired sanctuary that reflects your style and provides a relaxing retreat in your home. 20 Best Bedroom Wall Decor Ideas In 2024

A beautiful European farmhouse master bedroom will appear full of antiques, textures, DIY and old world style. See the unveiling of this gorgeous site!

It feels like a great day when I get to share a room with you, and officially inspect another finished space in our pole barn home that we built ourselves from the ground up. Let me take you inside our finished master bedroom reveal and share all the design details.

We lived in this bedroom for 3 years, with only unfinished sheets for the walls, zero trim, and leftover, coordinating furniture from our old home. We made the choice to finish our children’s room and other main areas of the home first and make them comfortable, so we are excited and anxious to start work on our bedroom.

When I saw this space, I was hoping to create a very relaxing room that was both masculine and feminine. I just wanted a place that felt relaxed and not too busy. With this goal in mind, more neutral colors and organic textures seemed to make their way into the room effortlessly.

The room is full of DIY projects and vintage finds, and I feel like it works well with the European farmhouse style I’m trying to create in our home.

Of course the bed is the right focus. If you’ve been following along, you know I made the upholstered bed and linen and provided you with the construction plans!

The fabric is abundant in shades of white and brown, and covered with layers of tissue. I shared another post about all the layers and how we made this bed versatile for every season.

To me, a bed is comfortable and beautiful with layers and layers of linen. So the sheets, quilts, duvet and many pillow covers are linen fabric. I found a wonderful source for cheaper bedding from a store called Queens. Their linen feels very soft and luxurious!

Bed linen can be expensive, and when I thought of making my own to save money, I found that the bed of queens is cheaper than buying the fabric and making it myself. I have tried many brands of bedding, and they are all honestly wonderful.

As long as it’s 100% linen, you can’t go wrong. But I was excited to share this store with you in case you were hoping for bedding but the price scared you off.

So sell some stuff at the market, and save up for bedding! It’s worth every penny! Here’s what I have on my queen bed:

I even added more linen fabric to frame our bed, with these simple linen curtains made from a very light knit linen from fabric-store.com. I made a reel on Instagram showing how easy it is to tear and hang the not-new curtains. I drew them to add a little curve to the look, and I think it’s really sweet and delicate.

Our nightclubs are both antique shop finds. We may replace the tops with marble remnants some day, but for now, they work well to add more storage and decor.

I really wanted to bring the old world texture to our walls that was achieved so well with Pure & Original paint.

The lower part of the walls are painted in their fresco limewash paint in the colored coffee cream. I left the upper part of the walls in the color Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore.

We added some nice thin trim for the baseboards and windows, and a very thin clear piece about 3/4ths of the way up the wall. To be honest, I wanted a lot more detailed trim work in here – maybe some picture frame molding or super thin crown molding.

However, with the price of wood right now, I just couldn’t spend the thousands on trim it would take to create this look so we kept it simple and went more dramatic with the paint type. We can always add more trim later, maybe if the price of wood goes down and it becomes a priority in our lives.

I added some vintage art to the walls – but not too much because I didn’t want it to be too busy in here. A simple vanity piece above our bed, some smaller framed art next to our bed, and a beautiful antique mirror across the window to bounce more light around the room.

My frames are from a thrift store and the art is from online digital shops. It’s a very affordable way to get vintage art into your home.

I hung an old piece of kettle wall hook on the wall to hold our clothes, which we will not want to hang up.

This beautiful dresser was another vintage store find. It is very useful for a little extra storage and is so beautiful as a decoration.

The bench was something we made years ago from scrap wood, and it’s nice to have it sitting on the end of the bed.

I wanted to leave a lot of empty floor space at the foot of the bed, because that’s where I often do my yoga and work.

This plush wool rug is so full of texture and is such a great step forward. I wanted something light in color but full of texture and this fit the bill! it grows
