I’m not against putting a TV over a fireplace, but it all depends on the height of the fireplace, other directions in the room, and the size of the TV.

I know that doesn’t really give you a straight answer, so let’s break it down first. Why is TV on fire the wrong choice to start? Well- many people worry about raising their necks to look… just not the right height to look at. The exception to this is if you have a modern fire or a small fire (measurement, especially height, definitely comes into play). Another concern is that the TV competes with other focal points in the room – the fireplace itself, windows, built-ins, etc. Many people also hate the idea of seeing a bad TV set on a beautiful living room.

Something to remember? We live in an age where technology, and television, is different for every home. They are bringing them to life today; they bring us fun, happiness, and things related to our family. It’s probably a bigger part of life than you think. Bringing them into your home in a creative way will help them feel less cluttered and cluttered.
So what’s the situation? If I’m being honest, there really isn’t a TV above the fireplace… as unheard of as it may sound. Or at least, the TV is messing with the fire
In our current house, we decided to create a room dedicated to watching television. This takes place in the basement, or in the media room
, as we like to call it. I realize that this is a fun and beautiful part of living in a big house- a place to see the things we love. Common room
Mounting A Tv Above A Fireplace: The Heated Debate
Our previous homes, with limited space, would not have been able to accommodate something like a “media room”. What will happen on TV now? The way I see it… you have different options:
You know what I did in our first house? Second. Guess what I did in our second home? Third. All this to say –
Living room for example. The television can only be placed on one wall and above the fireplace. Why? We have a large picture window on the left side of the room, an entry wall that opens to the kitchen on the side of the window wall, and depending on the size of the space – the bed can only fit in one way. This means that the TV must sit on the wall. We decided to renovate the fireplace and add a built-in…. So why did I choose to put the TV above the fireplace, instead of to the left or right, in one of the built-ins? To be honest – the asymmetry bothers me and our TV is too big to fit
I weighed the pros and cons and tried to do what was possible. I like the TV above the fireplace so the room feels more comfortable, but that means it has to be placed at the right viewing height. Therefore, I tried to solve the problem when buying a sofa. Back length is what you really want to look for in these situations. If I could redo this in our old room, the only thing I would do differently would be to upgrade the TV. Yes- you know I’m going to say the Samsung Frame. That’s good
Speaking of Frame TV- this is definitely on this year’s wish list! I’ll take any opportunity to make a TV look like art…it seems like a no brainer. If you don’t have the budget for it, don’t worry! There are several ways to “disappear” the TV… hide it behind a panel, hang art, put an exhibition wall around it, etc. Get creative and creative and feel bad about technology.
The last option is to accept asymmetry. Type-A personalities and OCD sufferers can’t get behind it, but many people do- and it works! Place the television to the left or right of the fireplace at viewing height and try to add balance with other objects or architectural features.
