A few years ago my dear sister gave me the most incredible calendar for Christmas. This is the Paper Source Wall Art Calendar and it’s not just filled with the best pictures you’ve ever seen; It also encourages doing a craft project on each page after the month is over. file folder; pillow cases, note cards; gift tags; There are templates printed on the back of each page for making bookmarks and more.
The calendar gives me a great reminder to take a closer look at the things I send to the recycling bin (or dump) and try to find something else to do with them. I hope this post will help you do the same.
Note: To make it easy for all the geeks out there with Cricuts; I created a Cricut cut file to create this file folder. If you don’t have a Cricut, grab a pair of scissors and an old file folder to use as a template.
If using a Cricut; Log into the Cricut design space and open my cut file from the materials list above. Place the calendar on the cutting mat and focus on the direction you want the design to appear in the file folder. Click “Create” Select the cutting material (I chose Kraft Cardstock) and Cut out the file folder. Now it is! You have a nice file folder.

If using scissors: Using a file folder as a template; Trace the shape to the back of the calendar page. Cut using scissors. Fold in half and voila! You have a nice file folder.

I have been trying to use the plan for years but never got it. After a week or two, I would be less enthusiastic and less interested in using it. For some reason, It has changed since I got the Happy Planner. A few weeks ago I showed you how to make DIY Planner Stencils and today I’m going to share with you how to make DIY Planner Folder Pockets.
I took some time to get started with my Happy Planner. The planner is very beautiful; I see so much inspiration from other Happy Planner users that I’m too scared to write anything. I’m afraid it’s not enough. After making the stencil, I have overcome the threat and my plan does not have to be as beautiful as others. I decided I just needed to have fun with it.
My Happy Planner is a refreshing floral happiness planner. They make so many great Happy Planners that it’s hard to choose which one to buy. They also have a ZILLION of great accessories to plan. Every time I go to Michaels (which is weekly) I spend about 10 minutes looking at all the beautiful accessories in the Happy Planner section. Almost every week I buy something new (like these awesome Happy Planner Pen Holders ), but DIY things for Happy Planner are fun too.
While cleaning out my work room the other day, I came across some planner stickers that I gave out at a conference a few years ago. I was so excited to find them (I had forgotten about them) that I immediately brought them to stick in the planner. The problem is, I don’t have a pocket for my Happy Planner. So I decided to quit my job and start my own business.
10 Minute Diy Personalized Pocket Folders
I fired up the Cricut Design Space and could not design it. Today I’m sharing a free design file and a tutorial on how to make your own. Read on to learn how to make DIY Planner Folder Pockets.
Thick Card Stock (I used Cricut Gold Glitter Card Stock for one folder and Mambi Sheets Baby Girl Card Stock for the other)
Optional: Washi Tape or a second piece of card if you want to line the folder with washi tape or another piece of card. (Alternatively, you can use double-sided card stock.)
Step 2: Decide how you want to organize your folder pockets. If you cover the pocket with washi tape, all you have to do is cut out the folder pocket. 2 folder pockets if you line the folder pockets with another piece of card stock. You need to cut the folder made of normal and mirror image.

Size your planner folder pocket to the appropriate size. The card stock I bought is 12×12, so my planner bag measures 11.75 inches by 9.25 inches tall.
Step 3: Click Go; Change your numbers to custom cardstock or glitter cardstock and cut out the planner bag.
Step 4: If you are making a double card stock planner bag; two parts together; Right side facing out. I usually just use a glue stick for this part.
If you are making a planner pocket lined with washi tape, place the washi tape in the area that will show when your planner pocket is closed. I usually lay down the washi tape a little more than the card stock, then cut the washi tape with scissors or a utility knife (this is used) to make sure that everything lines up well.
How To Decorate File Folders
Step 5: Close the planner folder pocket and glue the outer edge and bottom edge. I used Gorilla Glue for this step because I love how tough it is and it won’t come off. Then I glue it
