When it’s dry, cut two dowels to the desired length for the legs. I accommodate the length by placing the napkin covered balloon down and adding enough length that the napkin doesn’t rest on top of it or on the stand.
To serve as the legs, I cut a wide popsicle stick in half and glued the legs at a right angle before gluing the legs to either side of the ball (under the napkins).
Since I used scraps from a craft, some items were used in another craft, so I cleaned up the legs and feet by painting them black.
Because these little ghosts are so small, I realize they make more of an impact when you put them together, but one is cute on its own, especially when it pops its head out of the pumpkin!

As a child, I always looked forward to the various events organized by my school. I have fond memories of walking in the annual Halloween parade and enjoying class parties. The fun continued at home, after dinner, of course, when we slipped into our costumes and headed out to the shack. In addition to the holidays, we also had traditions leading up to the big day – pulling out pumpkins, carving jack-o-lanterns, and for me – finding various Halloween-themed crafts. I still remember sitting at my grandmother’s dining room table and making a ghost/bat mobile out of cotton balls, tissues and black construction paper (O and gel pens – for the eyes).
As an adult, I still like to use Halloween as a creative outlet. I feel like you shouldn’t do this if you’re a creative person! Dressing yourself, your kids and your pets in fun clothes, cooking up seasonal dishes and decorating your home with amazing decorations is the perfect creative inspiration. And – like the mobile-making 10-year-old me – I still enjoy making extra gizmos by creating homemade ornaments and crafts for every holiday. Instead of stocking up on jewelry at the dollar store, making your own jewelry is so much more fun!
