You can follow my guide to make a Colibri bird with this origami, or you can choose any shape you like, such as an origami crane.

Also, you don’t have to worry too much about the thickness of the book’s cover. My book was quite thick, so I could easily make a small hole in the cover using a push pin.

– Please prepare your books. Position the origami bird and place a piece of cardboard between the cover and the first page to protect the page.

– Download and print free templates. Alternatively, copy the drawing onto paper of the desired size.

* You can use painter’s tape to secure the pattern for the next step.

– Use a push pin to punch a hole in the cover. Repeat the process of drilling holes according to the pattern until all holes are completed.

– Remove the model from the cover. Make sure you haven’t missed a hole and test if the hole is large enough to pass the needle all the way through.

– Start embroidery, tie a knot in the thread and connect the holes. Please keep the model nearby for reference.

“Mowgli faces many challenges in the jungle throughout the story, obviously culminating in his battle with Shere Khan,” says John. “I wanted to emphasize this on the cover, but also show Mowgli’s courage. I painted Mowgli deep in the belly of the jungle, staring into the gaping maw of his enemy.”
