To fill them, we’ve chosen 32 fun fonts and used the letter G (from our last name) over and over again to create a cohesive gallery showcasing different typography styles.

We printed them at home so the only cost was paper and ink which helped cover the cost of all the frames. Hanging identically, they create a huge work of art around the TV.

Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios also tried a black and white approach around the TV, but chose to use mainly family photos with a few sketches.

The all-black frame moves your eyes instead of just being drawn to the TV. As with the printing option, you can print artwork at home to save money!

If black and white isn’t right for your space, you can still get a great look with color photos. For our master bedroom, I surrounded our TV with photos of my favorite buildings in Tulsa.

In addition to the photos, I used some air plants under the TV to add some life.

You can find wall planters at Target or similar ones at CB2 (affiliate links). Targets have bad reviews reporting breakage which I also noticed in the store, so even though I found a package that looked ok, I might be better off buying the CB2 in the long run.

If you have an open concept home with a large TV wall like ours, you probably share my preference for storage. We solved this problem a year ago with the IKEA media console!

We previously had a small cabinet that looked too small on this wall. One of the most important things I’ve learned about interior design is the importance of scale, and in general: go big!

We had a different olive before, but again, the scale was too small. The space next to the TV always bothered me that it was not filled. Big wood still feels airy, but the extra height and width make a big difference (see this article for a comparison).

On the left, I wanted to include something to warm up the corner near our family photo gallery wall. I’ve been eyeing this bamboo blanket ladder for a while, but I was worried it would be too small.

However, I ordered it anyway and solved the height problem by placing the canned goods under the foot of the stairs – an easy fix! I love how the curved top of the blanket ladder breaks up all the rectangular shapes in our living room.

Not much has changed here, just a few new pieces like the blue linen pillow and gold bowl had fun styling. I hope to add a ceiling light to this room soon!

And why wouldn’t they? The living room is built for comfort and relaxation, and entertainment usually goes hand in hand with both of those things. While televisions are essential in any modern living room, the unfortunate truth is that they aren’t that pretty to look at when they’re not in use.
