Journal Design Aesthetic – I’ve done a lot with craft paper in my bullet journal, but when I was thinking about paper ideas for June, I kept thinking about craft paper, so I just had to expand on the idea. Then I took my 08 size micron to draw a little calendar chart for the month of June.
Habit trackers are always so handy to have around the month at a glance, so I used the same micron pen and ruler to draw 3 grid habit trackers. One of my favorite things about the 30 day month is how perfectly the grids turn out…it’s so satisfying! Three habit measures were designed to track hydration, exercise, and taking a moment each day to express gratitude.

Both of these sites have free content as well as additional design elements. On the left page I can track June’s favorites: your favorite song, movie and/or TV show, book and memories. These “keep records” posts are interesting sites to visit in the future because they are like walking down memory lane.
Bullet Journal Spreads
The left side is for reflecting on the past while the right side looks to the future with a little “do trash” list of things I don’t always WANT to do, but often NEED to do. . Things like laundry, scrubbing the bathroom, reviewing expenses, preparing meals, descaling coffee machines, etc. i.e. Probably my favorite design choice this month was my decision to add black lines to the blanks of the handmade paper ring.
Summer is coming, so it seemed like a good time to make a list of summer activities I want to do this year. One of the things I always like to do when the weather warms up is to look through my closet to see if I’m missing key items… I want to take advantage of the nice weather and go to coffee places I do I don’t usually go to Toronto . I also have things to do like installing an AC unit in my apartment and taking care of plants like transplants.
Most of you know this by now, but if you didn’t, all of my grandparents were born and raised in Portugal, so my ancestry is Portuguese. Although I have a decent basic understanding of Portuguese, my speaking skills have never been exceptional, so over the years I have taken to learning the language. So one of the things I want to do this summer is challenge myself to a month-long Portuguese practice where I spend 20 minutes learning Portuguese and more Portuguese content every day for 30 days.
I added a blank section at the bottom of the page to write down any “bellas palavras” and Google told me it meant “beautiful words”. So whenever I come across a beautiful Portuguese word that I don’t want to forget, I now have a place for it.

The craft paper ring is back one last time along with a few other Pinterest images that caught my eye. Each day of this week has its own vertical rectangle for this weekly difference –
Apart from saturday and sunday which i combined into one as these are usually not hard days.
To fill in the small gaps, I added a small space to track meal ideas and wrote on the left side, “Fingers crossed for sunny days,” since Toronto had a little more sunshine in May. less often than I’d like, so a little sunnier in June would be appreciated!

Aesthetic-monthly Journal By Veadaribon123
The layout of your site is important, and in my opinion, guidelines to follow are the most helpful. This will help you know where to fill and where to leave space. I’ve tried many different page layouts over the years, some I like better than others. Below are some things I’ve learned and tried while filling out my journal pages.
1. To separate sections or days of writing, leave room for stickers, stickers, drawings or scraps… something to decorate your page.
2. Balance the magazine look with patterns and embellishments to create a beautiful aesthetic. To do this, draw lightly with a pencil, columns or squares to guide you. Just fill in these spaces, but of course you can change them if needed, also test the configurations now. It’s always fun to experiment and change things up when you’re journaling, it’s a place for creativity!
3. I always like to add embellishments (stickers, washi tape, etc.) when I fill in my pages, which means I pre-set and don’t decorate my journal pages by adding everything at first, I do it like i go It’s just my choice and suits me better.

4. Divide the page into sections, leaving blank space and margins. Right now, I organize my writing into vertical columns, two per page (as you can see in my photos). I also leave a small border around the edges with about two grid points in between or 2cm.
I tried to fill the page completely or leave less space. I currently prefer less clutter, this is of course a personal taste. As you start journaling more, you’ll learn what journal layouts work best for you and which ones you prefer!

I’m a big sci-fi fan. And from a young age, I loved learning about the universe, the planets, and the mythology that inspired the entire world and all of history.
I’ve experimented with star patterns in my journal in the past and found a way to include them on almost every page and last month spread them around the journal for a more cohesive look.
I always come back to these very simple weekly reviews with plenty of room for to-do lists and weekly goals. Because I work from home and in different time zones, my weekend is just as much a part of my work week as any other, so I like to have Saturdays and Sundays as separate boxes.
Aesthetic Bullet Journal Ideas
The first box is a general overview of what needs to be done for the week, divided into different categories.
Work: Agency work, freelance schedules (but my cafe shifts are on a separate wall calendar because they never change…)
Art: Although I also paint for my own commission (duh), I like to have a separate art category where I can jot down more personal paintings I want to do in my spare time. It’s also where I post upcoming Etsy illustrations or where I jot down any quick animation videos I have planned.
A printable version of my weekly planner is now available for your planner or journal! The planets, moon, and sun silhouette are illustrated in ink and combined with a simple, practical weekly layout that I like to have on my to-do lists. Click the image for the link!
I Wanted To Cry!! 😭
Not every week requires all four categories. Sometimes I have too much freelance work to fit into blog posts or personal projects, so I leave them out. Flexibility is key when you’re freelancing, and a journal is a great tool for that!
