Living Room Design Ideas Corner Fireplace – As the home player, your job is to bring out the best qualities of the roster. This way, buyers will develop empathy for the home and make a high offer.

In many homes, the fireplace is the natural centerpiece of the room. What if the fireplace is placed in an inconvenient place, such as the corner of the room? What room layout works best with a diagonal fireplace?

Living Room Design Ideas Corner Fireplace

Many property stylists fear spaces with corner fireplaces because they throw off traditional space formulas. With over 15 years in the business, we’ve developed home staging strategies that can showcase any listing, including those with corner fireplaces.

Conquering The Corner Fireplace

We offer a compact fireplace in The Studio, a modern home stager training center. We can place it in different positions, so our students can do different furniture placements regardless of where the fireplace is located.

The first thing you need to do when designing a room is to decide on a focal point. Many family room and condo projects will have a fireplace central to some bedrooms.

But even if the room has a fireplace, it may not be the best choice of focal point. Therefore, in rooms with a diagonal fireplace, it is important to first determine whether the fireplace should be the center of attention. It will inform the entire design of the room.

For example, the downstairs room has a beautiful fireplace, but the real selling point is the view. In this case, we set our scene with windows instead of fireplaces.

9 Designer-ideas To Overcome An Awkward Living Room Layout

Unless you have a spectacular view or another architectural feature you want to highlight, a corner fireplace is likely to be the focal point of the room.

Once you’ve decided on the hearth as the focal point, it’s time to decide how to arrange the room. There are several furniture layout options that work best for corner fireplaces.

The first option is to place the sofa perpendicular to the focal point and face the entrance of the room. This opens up the space, offers the most attractive view of the sofa, and draws attention to the hearth. The carpet should be in the same direction as the sofa with the focal point and the sofa facing away.

If this doesn’t work well for the room, you can place the sofa perpendicular to the focal point, but with its back to the entrance. The back of the sofa may not be very attractive, so you may need to put a console table behind it or throw a blanket behind it.

Your third option is parallel to the focal point. Again, you might want to put a console table or throw it behind the sofa.

Each of these options will attract the eye of a potential buyer. Without professional home staging, a buyer may wonder how to build a room with a diagonal fireplace. They may see this as a disadvantage. By installing a fireplace, buyers will only have a positive memory of a beautiful fireplace.

Now that you have your furniture in order, the next step in arranging the room is the artwork. Your artwork should again focus on the center of the room. In fact, a focal wall may be the only wall in a room that requires artwork.

The best and most prominent piece of art in the room should be the fireplace. It will be another way to draw the eye of the potential buyer to the focal point.

Finally, it is important to keep the fireplace itself clean and maintained. As with anything in between, something that looks dirty and shabby will show buyers that the home is in poor condition overall.

Make sure the fireplace is empty – or offer it to the host. Build with new channels. In some cases, you may want to suggest that the homeowner add heat-resistant black paint to the inside of the fireplace.

These are the basic formulas for arranging a room with a diagonal fireplace, but there are a million exceptions. As a stager, our job is to overcome difficult situations and show buyers how to use them.

Whether it’s a corner fireplace or another difficult feature, follow the architectural style as much as possible. Follow the contours of the iconic spaces. Sometimes you may only have room for one chair, or a large space may require two sofas.
