Living Room Interior Design Ideas With Dining Table
I’m currently looking for an apartment in Lisbon, and I’ve found that it’s probably too small. This mountain town likes its homes compact, and if you have a small amount of square feet, you often don’t have a dining room. But I am the host most of all. That’s why I’m still planning my future dinner party and thinking of creative ways to put it on the table that doesn’t fit easily.
Our Modern Dining Room Design
From choosing chairs to mixing furniture in Tetris, there are ways to design a dining area. Below are some tips to make space for a dining table in a small living room. It’s time to get creative.
If there’s a will, there’s a way. If your living room flows into the kitchen but has a small section, use that section to your advantage. Create an accent dining room: Hang it above your table, place a mirror or painting directly in front of it, and place a small bar cart in the corner. All these details indicate that this is a separate dining area that is not part of the living room.
The general mindset when it comes to spaces is “less is more.” But that is not always the case. If you need to set a dining table, don’t be afraid to stack your items next to each other. Finally, you need to use the space as best as possible. This square dining table sits next to a bookcase filled with books and a shelf that serves as a handy place to hang hats. It’s comfortable and looks just right.
To make the dining area a space that stands out from the rest of the room, hang a chalkboard on the wall and hang it with a piece of art. Hanging a sideboard takes up less space and also gives you the opportunity to add additional decorations. You can also use a floating shelf to hold side dishes or wine glasses for dinner parties.
7 Must-try Ideas For Living Room And Dining Room Combos
Do you have a sliding balcony door or a large window? Don’t worry if there’s something blocking the decor of the dining room – it won’t look bad if it’s done right. Here Heather used a low side chair that blocks the balcony door, creating a small barrier.
If you have very little space for a dining table, go where the light is. Create a sunny corner for your dining experience by placing thin chairs against the wall (to take up as little space as possible) and place one chair outside.
Instead of choosing a large sofa that will increase the size of your desk, choose a sofa that is easily stored and takes up less space. Wheelchairs are great because they are stored under the table, but they also make a statement with their geometric design.
Sometimes there is no natural place to hang your desk, so you have to get creative. Thierry and Peter proved that a small stool table next to the stairs is a creative place to eat, but it also looks good.
Modern Interior Design
Avoid chairs and use L-shaped chairs to save space. This family lives in a small house and makes a small round table when they eat. Not only does it look airy and spacious, no one feels cramped while sitting in it!
When you have limited space, you need to allow yourself to get creative and break some design rules. The general belief is that if the furniture is touching, it is too much for the room. However, this is not the case when the area is limited. Here, Devin and Chad pushed their shelves right into the dining table and sofa—but the space is still moving. It looks comfortable and practical.
An easy way to say “This is the dining room” is to mark the room with rugs. Enjoy carpet colors that will brighten up your small room. It’s been over three years since I last came here, and today I’m happy to share with you the living room and dining room of S & Y’s Home. We worked on this house in stages. We started in the master bedroom when S and Y were a newlywed couple. When they were blessed with their beautiful little angel, we designed their room. Now that she is a sweet little girl, they are finally ready to design her living room and dining room.
If you look at the remodeling of other rooms in their home, you will notice that they always prefer light, neutral colors in their home. We also took this into account when designing the living room and dining room of the S & Y home.
Fall Decor: Living Room, Foyer And Dining Room
When you enter the house you have to walk a long way before you actually enter the living area. Our first goal was to use this area wisely and make it attractive. After all, this is the first impression of the house!
Next was the L-shaped living and dining area. Her residence was of course on the big and beautiful balcony. This left the inner wall of the dining area.
Placing the dining table in the middle makes the space too crowded, so we pushed it to the corner. A round table with an L-shaped round chair really helped open up the space here.
Finally, we added additional storage space along the hallway leading to the bedroom. This gave S a much needed place to organize all the essentials of the family.

We added all of this to make the living room and dining room of the S&Y home look even brighter than when we started!
Since they don’t want a big private door and security, we installed a “window” that opens behind the security. This means that the main door itself doubles as a security door.
When you open the door, you enter a circular passage. We used the first part to store shoes. This makes it more convenient to take off or put on your shoes when entering or leaving the house.
The next step in the hallway, close to the living room, is the console and mirror oven. If we put these on the opposite wall, you can see them on the sofa in the living room. But I thought it was very important that this wall looked friendly and inviting when entering the house. As it is now placed, you can see directly from the main entrance which makes it a nice sight.

To maximize the use of space, we placed a round dining table in the corner. On one side, the bench runs in an “L” around the corner. On the other side we have three dining chairs that complete the round.
Since we don’t want to waste space in a small house, the pantry also has large drawers underneath.
Since S wanted a large storage unit in this hallway, we installed a floor-to-ceiling unit. The main electrical box is also on this wall, and the unit helps to hide that. Using glass in store windows really helps to open up the space. In fact, I think this passage looks bigger now than it did without the stock!
With large glass doors that slide out onto the balcony, the living area offers beautiful views and plenty of natural light. Since S & Y often have family and friends visiting, we extended the seating here.
Elegant Holiday Decorating Ideas For The Dining Room
S & Y received a Samsung Frame TV. You can choose an artwork from a variety of artworks available online and display it on your screen. This means that the TV doesn’t look like a big black box when it’s turned off, but it adds to the visual appeal of the room rather than detracting from it.
We also made good use of the balcony area with outdoor seating for comfortable seating on one side.
And these beautiful stools on the other side. Beautiful long lamps and plants make the outdoor space of the house.
This beautiful rug was the first piece we chose. We chose beige to use throughout the living room, sprinkled with pops of blue and red.
