Log Book Design Ideas – Hi, it’s Clemens from @planninginfrench! Today I want to introduce you to my reading journal and especially my favorite quotes from all the books I read.
I returned to the reading a few months ago. I realized that this hobby is really good for me because it is really therapeutic. Reading helps me deal with my anxiety and grief stages and it allows me to spend more time away from screens. All good things!

I wanted a reading journal to keep track of all my reading and especially to remember the books I read and why I liked them. I needed a lot of flexibility for this journal because sometimes I have a lot to write about in a book… sometimes a few sentences are enough. That’s why I decided to make my own reading diary, I wanted it to suit my needs.

For each book I put a picture of the book cover and write some basic information: start and end dates, number of pages, ratings, … for some books I write what the book taught me and why. I liked it. Of course, I often learn a lot from reading! The funny thing is that sometimes the lesson has nothing to do with the story, like a character’s personality or their development inspires me and I want to remember that.
I also wanted to write down some quotes that have inspired and helped me a lot. To be honest, I mostly read romance, so you’d think they wouldn’t have much to learn since they mostly read for fun. But this is not true! All these books are filled with quotes that are real life lessons. The thing is, I read so many books that I was afraid I would forget all the inspiring things I learned, so I wanted to put them all in one place.
Some quotes motivate me to achieve my goals and I try to draw on my strength of character to get there. For example: ‘
Achieving goals through discomfort and hard work. You can’t get them when you’re hiding in a nice, cozy place
Horticulture Garden Log Book: The Ideal Guided Journaling Logbook For Recording All Your Gardening Projects, Care Requirements And Design Ideas Over …
’. This quote means so much to me and gives me so much strength that I had to write it down in my reading journal.
Other quotes remind me that it’s okay to have stages of grief, they’re part of life, and it gets better later. When I go through sad phases I feel alone and misunderstood, and realizing that the characters in the books go through the same phases helps me realize that I have a right to feel that way. For example: ‘
Sadness is an inherent part of happiness. You don’t have a life where you are always happy
Other quotes help me appreciate every little joy in life and realize that I need to focus on getting better as time goes on. For example: ‘

I had based my life on the idea that I wanted to see the extraordinary everywhere, but I realized that the extraordinary is everywhere.
’. Aren’t we all so obsessed with the extraordinary that we forget to see that it is everywhere in our everyday lives if we take the time to pay attention.
When I took the time to write these quotes in my journal, I was able to understand their true meaning and question myself. Also, when this journal is filled with all my readings, it will be a veritable collection of inspirations to help me with all the little difficulties of daily life. Re-reading them in my journal gives me strength, courage, inspiration or comfort when I need it. This is why I love my reading journal so much <3

The method is maintained. In fact, you could say I’m an overachiever in this regard, as I usually maintain 5+ idea logs for different topics at any given time.
An idea log is a solo, visual record of thoughts, something you create as you think afterwards, like a journal. In addition, the idea log is a kinesthetic tool for thinking, which gives you space and the opportunity to let your mind wander into creative and out-of-the-box thinking. Because they’re yours, idea journals are a safe place to explore half-baked thoughts and relate your own life experiences to the problem.

The first reason I like idea logging is because I like having a record to refer to. Idea logs help you capture thoughts that pop into your head as you go, record meetings or conversations for later confirmation, and create a record of past mistakes.
Also, I think idea logs are one of the best tools for processing thoughts and working through problems. For me, scribbling thoughts on a blank piece of paper is a great way to start a project I’ve been putting off for a while. Or, if I’m talking an idea to death with colleagues, working alone in a notebook is a great way to clear my head and move on to a new thought.
Some people use a log to capture all their ideas. A big advantage of using a laptop is that it’s easy to take anywhere, meaning you always have it with you to record moments of brilliance or to look back on. I personally like to have separate notebooks that are specific to a project or topic so that my thoughts are somewhat organized. To do this, I usually have a stack of post-it notes so I can transfer thoughts from what I have to where they belong.
There is no one way to idea log, everyone has their own idea logging style. But forcing yourself to step out of your comfort zone is often the path to new ideas. This means that if you’re the type to think through text, force yourself to doodle or draw frames and see where it takes you. Here are some other tips for getting the most out of your idea log:

Find a place that is comfortable and free of major distractions, and make sure you have things on hand to help you think better, such as good snacks, music, colored pens and craft supplies.
To get to the good stuff, you need to give yourself enough time to relax: think 45min+. Once you start, try to get through as many pages as possible, because the point is to go beyond the initial thought, which will take the first few pages. If you are truly an idea log master, you should try to idea log daily, it is difficult but not impossible.
When you look back at what you’ve logged and take notes on what you’ve learned, the key points from an idea log session in the last ten minutes will emerge. This can be in the form of identifying patterns and themes, or highlighting the most important. For this, write clearly and avoid excessive abbreviation, so that even after a few days you understand what you have written.
4. Capture the Stream of Consciousness (Don’t Edit Yourself) To make implicit leaps and understand the finer nuances of your thoughts, allow yourself to capture your ideas before you’re ready to share them—in other words, capture half-baked , strange thoughts. You have to give yourself permission to put out the perfect page, spell everything right and make it look good. If you go for style points, you don’t allow yourself to think deeply enough.
The Art Of Art Journaling: A Guide To Creating A Visual Diary
When I sit down to log an idea into a framework, I often find that the first thing that pops into my head is something completely unrelated and mundane, like what I need to pick up at the grocery store later. Allow yourself to work through these roadblocks by thinking about them, making a list, or capturing them. Meanwhile
