The Seven Canyons Trust, with support from Bockholt Landscape Architecture and the Franks Family Foundation, is creating a community-based design vision to reveal the Emigration River at Herman Franks Park. There is an opportunity to raise the river 1,000 feet on the perimeter of the park to open up space between the baseball diamonds and adjacent fairways. The restored creek channel will provide a beautiful backdrop to the current use of the park without detracting from it in any way.

There is currently a downspout that takes surface water underground and into the garden with none the wiser. This is a missed opportunity to use one of the most attractive products that draws people to public spaces, making water attractive to this park, allowing for new custom applications. along the stream, restoring the natural environment and habitat, improving the street.
Stormwater drainage will require some excavation and grading near the existing playground, which will require some redevelopment.
Water attracts people. Creating a natural stream that runs through Hermann Franks Park will attract people’s attention. Approaching and exploring certain areas will be fun and safe. Adding a stream will increase biodiversity by attracting a variety of wildlife to the newly restored area.
Now the area in the project area is relatively flat. This works for current use, but with the addition of a natural stream that flows by gravity, new landforms must be added to the site. Ground facilities can add additional built-in equipment and redesign existing equipment, such as bleachers, to fit the team.
51 Modern Landscape Design Ideas That Make You Want To Live Outdoors
Since the downspout is illuminated during daylight hours in the park, it will be necessary to re-enter the downspout system somehow. The natural topography of the area makes this end of the stream in the northwest corner of the park very feasible.
1. The Origin of Daylight – Stormwater is pumped out of a pipe into a treatment system before being discharged into a natural drainage system.
2. Stadium – This concept proposes to rebuild a stadium with interpretive structures inspired by pipelines and waterworks. These features can include a storm drain, a large kiddie tube installation, a water feature for kids to interact with, and much more. This idea would require excavating the ground and adding ramps and steps to the playground.
This sketch shows what some parts might look like and how the storm interacts with the play area. A fun idea is to change part of the storm during the day so people can look in to see the moving water. The entrance to the dog park will be reopened to eliminate uses that conflict with the new landscape.

3. Stream – In this context, the stream flows naturally from the field site to the northwest part of the site. Bridges spanning the stream maintain existing footpaths and provide opportunities to interact with and approach the water. These platforms can have interpretive signs, seating and lights to make them comfortable and enjoyable.
This sketch shows the adjacent condition of the stream and observation deck, as well as the observation deck with safety rail and signs. Also pictured, on the right, is a park with 60 degree off-street parking and access signs.
4. Landscaping – To accommodate natural flow, this concept uses retaining walls to cut into an existing group and allow for a stream bed. the playground. This playground works really well with this idea as it slopes down to the riverbed below. It can be used to watch fireworks and other events. It can also be used as a square/picnic when events are not being held.
5. Stream Terminal – The stream re-enters the spillway at the northwest corner. It expands into the sump before re-entering the pipe to settle and filter out dirt, debris and waste.
How To Use Ai For Landscape Design
1. Daylight Begins – Stormwater is illuminated by a body of water in the southeast corner of the site and passes through canals and ponds before taking on a natural appearance.
2. Playground – Something different from a playground would be a playground that focuses more on education and explaining why daylight is good. filter water and control variables. This creates interest and pools near the playground.
This sketch shows how the educational playground and streams interact and provides opportunities for interpretation such as signs and lookouts.
3. Stream – In this context, the stream flows from the watershed in the southeast corner, naturally meandering through the northwest corner. The concept connects the creek and pond to Liberty Park across the intersection. consecutively and repeatedly, extending the experience of crossing the stream. There are two main viewing platforms. The first phase includes a water-down approach to the north of the large baseball diamond. The second platform stands in the middle of the green road, which serves as a collection point.

4. Relief – In this concept, the creek is raised and retaining walls are built to define the riverbed to raise the field near the concession building, which is to be held by the bleachers, and about 1300 south and 700 east. the road. down. The northeast corner gets three major improvements along the stream. These include a raised corner plaza, built-in bleachers and seating, and a waterfall.
As shown in the picture, the bleachers will be grouped by a large wall separating the waterfall and the baseball field. This proposal also calls for revisions to contracts.
5. Flow Terminal – This theory assumes that both 700 East and 1300 South curve down to pass under the green overpass at grade or ground level. This bypass allows the stream and park to connect with the hydrology and green space of Liberty Park. .
This sketch shows what a green connection between Liberty Park and Herman Franks Park could look like. It enhances the city’s walkability, prioritizes our watershed and walkways to Liberty Park, and more.
