Powerpoint Reverse Design Ideas – When creating PowerPoint layouts or editing PowerPoint templates, focusing on an image can sometimes help give your audience a different perspective or create an image taken from one angle. You can do this using PowerPoint’s flip image option.
To create a layout where the same image appears on the other side, copy and paste next to or below the original image.

Mirror Powerpoint Presentation Template And Google Slides
By creating a mirror image in PowerPoint, you can create a PowerPoint presentation that is visually appealing and allows you to add a new perspective to your slides. However, it is recommended to use this option sparingly, depending on the situation. Since your slides can quickly end up looking ugly or unprofessional if this technique is used incorrectly. For example, you may want to display an image in a header slider to create an attractive opening slide to show different views. Conversely, mirror images of team members when presenting to your team in a meeting may not be the best way to design your slides. Also, check out our article on how to crop an image in PowerPoint.

Another easy way to improve bullet points is to take them and place them horizontally on a slide. Then add a small icon to each point. This is a great look (and easy to do!)

This means thinking about what you want the reader to pay attention to and what needs to stand out on the page. Next, organize the information on the slide so that it makes sense and is easy to follow. Generally, what this means in practice is having large text or ideas at the top of the page and small text or double-clicking further down the page.
Draw thin lines to help create separation between page elements. The pro tip is to hold down the Shift key to make the lines straight. If I have two different graphics on a slide, I’ll use thin lines right in the middle to create a separation.
In the NYT example below, the thin white lines add a nice, elegant touch. It is still very well organized and easy to read without lines. However, the line slips a bit.
There is no need to fill every inch of the slide with content or images. Leave some space around the text. Leave some white space on the slide.

Or just look at the slide below for an example of using white space. If you’re not used to using whitespace, it will take some getting used to.
If you need to add logos to a slide, remember to try to find the highest quality images possible on Google. Your presentation looks very professional and very polished. Attention to detail increases.
This is also true if you search for other images on Google. But if you remember my design tips from the beginning, don’t start with Google Images because there are better places to find amazing images.
Use a dark color or a white background. Use a light color if the background is dark. Never use yellow letters on white letters because they cannot be read.

One tip I received from a friend at Presentation Guild was to use a web tool like Accessible Color Generator to make sure the colors you’re using are readable for people with low vision or color blindness.
Use tables to organize your content. I mean it literally. Draw a table (4×4, 5×5, etc.), enter the content, and then delete the table. Your slide will now have this hidden shape that will make everything on the page appear centered.
We are in 2023. Everything is digital. People read on their laptops, iPads, or widescreen monitors. It still surprises me when I see a PowerPoint presentation made in a 4:3 ratio. It looks like something from the 90s.
Of course, there are some situations where people want to see a hard copy of the presentation and it can be argued that the 4:3 ratio is better. But I don’t buy it.

If you can, always choose something simple instead of something complex. If the slide feels cluttered, edit some of the content. Or split one slide into two, three, or four slides.
If you have to include a lot of text on a slide due to legal or regulatory requirements, use columns to make the text easier to use. Think about print newspapers or even magazine columns. The letters don’t even extend the width of the paper. Same idea here.
This is not a hard and fast rule. However, if you keep your slide content within the borders of the slide, it will look more professional and cleaner. If you’re going to break boundaries, do it intentionally.
Sometimes an idea is easier to show with a diagram than to explain in text. If you decide to use a diagram, try drawing it with the advanced tools built into PowerPoint.

PowerPoint’s SmartArt looks great unless you know how to hide it properly. There is a stigma against SmartArt and I have seen many style guides and PowerPoint presentation templates that advise against its use.

Use the grid to help you organize the elements on the slide so that there is some type of structure underneath.
