Quick Bathroom Design Ideas – Brown may seem like an unlikely color choice for a bathroom. But Mackenzie Craven’s thoughtful guest bath is a quiet case of this bold ’70s-inspired shade. “Brown is back!” she said in her Instagram post, where she revealed a new look with Dirty Chai. “This rich, moody shade is just what this small bathroom needs.”

The versatile brown proved to be the perfect palette cleanser for the compact bathroom – and it was just the inspiration she needed to redecorate the space further. After a few more affordable upgrades, the space is now warm, modern and perfectly set – ready just in time for the holiday season. “I love the moody, classic effect,” she says of the new shade. “It’s a natural transition from the gray-brown walls that are in my house.” Are you ready to be inspired? Instead of investing in all new wall decor, take notes from Mackenzie and pull from your existing archive. “I made this gallery wall with what I had on hand,” she says of the small installation hanging above the toilet. This hack is perfect for small spaces that just need a few pieces of wall art to feel finished.

Mackenzie chose our Dirty Chai with a hint of cinnamon – a warm, sophisticated neutral and a far cry from the blush pink that graced bathroom walls last year. “A straight bathroom has always been a crowd pleaser, but let’s be honest, the color is polarizing,” she writes. “I didn’t want anything to stand in the way of potential buyers falling in love with our house, so I was ready to try something new.”

You can still tile a bathroom on a budget, especially when you’re working with such a small space. For quick savings, “ask local stores which tiles are overstocked in their inventory,” he suggests. “If you’re working with a small space, they can have enough on hand to get the job done.”

Wall-hung sinks are great space savers for small bathrooms, but exposed pipes can present obvious design problems. Instead of investing in new, aesthetically pleasing plumbing, Craven suggests a trip to your local powder coating shop. “Decorative pipes can be expensive,” she says. “Instead of buying all new pipes in your desired finish, powder coating saves you time and money. Just work with your plumber to find out what you need and what you already have.”

Striped towels and a small rug add just the right touch of texture and warmth to this cozy space. “I used to be afraid of vintage rugs, but this little beauty has converted me,” she says. “It’s soft and unique and just what this whimsical little bathroom needed.” For those looking for bathroom decor ideas on a budget, consider scouring your local thrift stores or flea markets, which are often full of unique and affordable products.

We have a soap dispenser at Finn’s sink. I went with this amber colored glass bottle for a traditional style. These are some of my favorite soap dispensers for home use because they fit in almost any space.

In the middle I have this elegant black tray. I’m a big fan of trays on the bathroom sink because they’re a great way to capture smaller items and make them look elegant. Here I have a fake plant, Finn’s cologne, and this little q-tip container.

This container is actually a candle holder, but it works great for q-tips too! It’s also amber but doesn’t quite match the soap dispenser as it has a ribbed texture.

Then I have this black marble cotton ball container. It’s nice to have them in an easily accessible place and they look elegant on the sink. So again, we want each piece to complement rather than match.
