When we create handcrafted art, we mean epoxy resin. Resin is a clear liquid plastic made up of two parts: resin and hardener. When materials are mixed together, they react and generate heat. This chemical reaction creates a solid material like rock from a liquid. The ratio of this material is usually 1:1 and it is easy to work with!
It is very important to follow the resin manufacturer’s instructions otherwise the resin will not dry properly. You can measure tone by weight or volume. In fact the resin and the hardener have different weights and it is not the same as it seems.

Epoxy resins have been used in many industrial applications, such as repairing damaged or leaking boat parts and sealing countertops. It has been used for many years for tables, floors and wooden constructions. The resin allows it to be used in home decor, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, mouse pads, flow art, charcuterie boards, shelves and more.
There are many types of epoxy resin to choose from. Different resin compositions are used for different purposes: centerpieces, floors or resin decorations. Before purchasing epoxy resin, there are a few things to consider.

For the quality of your artwork, it’s worth paying more for better quality resin.

So choosing the right quality of adhesive is crucial, otherwise you could end up with a project that won’t cure completely and looks terrible! For example, if you use a low viscosity resin for a large object, you won’t be able to get the resin out of the mold and the project will fail. If you use a high viscosity resin in another mold, it may appear broken. Always take the time to find good quality resin.
Most epoxy resins have a short working time of around 25-30 minutes. This time the resin can be mixed before it hardens. I recommend mixing a small amount of epoxy because it has a very short working time.
Curing times may vary depending on the resin supplier, so double check the manufacturer’s instructions. Weather conditions, working temperature and other factors also affect it. The resin usually dries completely within 24 hours.
For projects that come into contact with heat, such as mice and shelves, make sure the epoxy is heat-resistant. This type of resin may take longer to cure than other types.
