Simple Card Design Ideas – , I was there. But here’s the good news: We’ve got all the information you need about instant cards that still sound attractive. You can make these cards in less than 30 minutes with materials you probably already have at home (or buried in your craft room). score!

For each of these projects, you’ll need some basic supplies: cardboard; blank white cards and envelopes; Cutting tools such as scissors, X-ACTO knife or paper cutter; And paper friendly glue. Additional consumables for specific cards are detailed below.

Simple Card Design Ideas

Sometimes making a cute card is as simple as…gluing something to the front. Stick a pretty piece of cardboard to the front of the blank cardboard, add a message and grab an old birthday candle from the kitchen scrap drawer.

Homemade Card Ideas

Create this great design by printing or stamping your message (or messages in this case) onto a blank card. Next, cut your colored washi tape and use scissors to create wavy organic shapes. Use these waves to frame your letters and your card is ready to roll!

When it comes to paper crafting, you can’t go wrong with stamps. This card uses simple triangles to create a geometric layout that we love. Don’t have a stamp? No sweat – you can make it yourself by cutting white rubber. If you have a little extra time, use a box cutter or X-ACTO knife to cut the pattern into a stamp for added detail!

Finally, a card that combines two of our favorite things: ice cream and coffee. (like). If your crafting passion is fueled by caffeine, cut an old coffee wrapper into a cone and stick it on your card. Top it off with a few little treats and you’ll have a scoop of a wonderful greeting.

For this fun look, print or stamp the link on a card and simply add tissue paper. Tissue paper is transparent, so you can use a glue stick to stick directly onto your letters without fear of obscuring the paper.

Balloon Birthday Card

You can trace and cut out circles by hand, but it’s easier (and much faster!) to use circle punches.

We all are. O point. Print, stamp or handwrite your message, then simply press an unused pencil eraser onto the ink pad and start dotting!

When it comes to stamping, erasers are definitely your best friend. Use a pencil cap eraser to create a fancy ring and take a stencil of your choice to print out the design. If you don’t have a template, draw your shape on a piece of paper, cut out the inside, and use that as a solution!

Bring energy with washi tape letters. Write your message in large print on wax paper and cover it with washi tape. Then simply turn it over, cut out the letters and add them to your card along with some more accents!

Clean And Simple Cards (one Card 4 Ways)

A giant, glowing exclamation point is just the right amount of extra. Print or print the message on a card, cut out glitter paper and glue. It’s that easy!

Three words: mini pom poms. We prepare this design for all birthday and non-birthday celebrations. Use a small dot of sticky glue to stick your mini pom poms on, then once they’re dry draw the wire with a simple stroke of the pen.

Confetti is great, but it’s even better when you make it yourself! This card is like a little mobile party in itself. Use a hole punch to make confetti pieces from tissue paper, put them in a pretty cheesecloth bag and stick them on the card. Very beautiful!

The perfect card for a child who loves fairy tales… or for adults who appreciate a little whimsy. This card may look like it takes a little more time to make, but we have templates for it – just print them, trace the images onto card stock, cut out the pieces, and glue everything together.

In the template, the rainbow rays are perfect circles. You can either cut them in half before transferring them to cardstock, or fold them in half afterward. Whatever makes sense to you!

Flower lovers, this one is for you. Adding bold flowers to a paper hat card is easy and looks gorgeous! Decorate your design with some washi tape and a link and you’re good to go.

The design of each card will be slightly different from the previous one and we enhance it by adding more layers.  We start with a simple card, with no layers involved, and then enhance it by adding a layer, and then two layers.

As I look through the folder, I discover that a sketch sparks an idea or reminds me of a cube that can achieve the same effect.  I very rarely follow a card sketch overall.

My method starts with a paper mat – usually a 6″ x 6″ or 6″ x 8″ mat.

First of all I tear out all the pages and put them on the table.  Since there are usually two of each design with an alternate design on the back, I put the two together.  Each side of the paper together.

This works well for some pads like Echo Park.  One side of the paper is busy and the other side complements it with a more subtle pattern. 

I firmly believe that I will not re-invent the wheel!  The matte designers have worked hard to make sure all the patterns match, so let’s put in the hard work creating cards with their designs.

When using mats like this I use a subtle design as the bottom layer and a busy design on top.

I cut the base layers from a regular colored card so that they corresponded to the colors in the paper package – always consistent with the size of the card base.

Next, I spread out all the ephemeral pieces and separate them into groups – all emotions together, all photos together, etc.

The first card is always the hardest, but once you get into the flow, it starts rolling.

I create the card on the base layer.  We leave the final gluing to the card base for last.
