For Kirby, part of the plan to get eyeballs and his brand, and the feet of his store, is the fact that the boutique is in a space traversed by cruise ship passengers in Key West and other tourists in the ‘inside’ country. However, when COVID-19 hit shortly after he signed his contract, he realized it would be a matter of time before the crowds flocked to his door again.
Instead, he turned to social media, created Facebook and Instagram pages to showcase his new finds, and promoted the store’s space. That’s when we started talking about his photography and what he would like for an image. Specifically, the content he can use on his social media channels, website and online store promotion, to show not only what the store is like, but what it’s like to shop there. Because part of the appeal of such a store is the one-on-one attention you get from Kirby and his team when you arrive, the shoot should feel like a conversation on “a day in the life” going on. as it should be. about products.
We divided the day into three main areas, focusing on (1) the experience of being a customer, (2) the store owner and the personality behind the brand, and (3) the available looks, styles and accessories. For the first part of the experience, we enlisted some of Kirby’s loyal first customers to appear in the shoot.
