Small Kitchen Interior Design Ideas – As someone who has never had a large kitchen in any of the apartments I’ve lived in, I really like and appreciate the great ideas that come from designing small spaces (mainly kitchens). I had to be a little creative with this type of room myself, so if you have a small kitchen that you’re looking to update, I’ve been here for you. In fact, I am in your shoes right now! Every day I look at my sweet kitchen and ask, “How can I make you better?! Talk to me!” So my hope today is to inspire some great ideas that you can use whether you’re a renter or a renovator. Maybe I’ll even have fun ideas 🙂

Small Kitchen Interior Design Ideas

Ok, I know you saw this kitchen last week, but since it was the inspiration for this post, I thought it should be first. I think the first most important idea to steal is the timeless design idea. Although it was photographed and created for Em’s new book, this kitchen was designed at least seven years ago. Can you tell?? Me neither. Classic materials (white oak and white marble), a neutral but luxurious color palette, clean lines and simple appliances are the ingredients for a kitchen design that will look great for years to come.

One of the things Ryann mentioned in the post was how the island and kitchen counters are made of the same marble. It is not only simple and beautiful, but also makes the corner area look more harmonious. Your eyes can also rest. This is a very good thing, because they walked with open shelves. As you’ll see in a second, I’m a big fan of open shelving when it makes sense. I think small kitchens are perfect for them. For what? Well, if you live alone or with another person, you don’t need a lot of dishes, glasses, etc. This makes it easy to store and keep everything organized. It also opens up the upper half of your kitchen, making it larger and visually lighter. Finally, it is an easy way to beautify your kitchen and give it a personal style. You can easily add color with plates or glass, decorate beautiful vases and cups, the sky is the limit. It’s a fun playground 🙂

Oh, and I should definitely mention the transformer capabilities of this island. As shown above, it can be an island, but it can also be a table. And if necessary, it can be moved to the middle of the study and become a dining table for four (maybe six :))

26 Best Butler’s Pantry Ideas

This is my former oasis. While I miss the usable interior storage (check the cabinet in front of the oven – less than easy access) and the HUNDIR floor, I miss everything else. This DIY kitchen is a real labor of love that my dad forced me to abandon because of my “specific and detailed” requests.

So what did I do to my really small kitchen? Fun fact: It wasn’t the smallest kitchen I’ve ever lived in – Hey, San Francisco! OK, here’s the list:

If you’re wondering if I removed the cabinet doors from the top, I didn’t. They already were. I think they had doors at one time. I liked to style them and show them what I liked to see and use. Having doors would have been a missed design opportunity in my opinion. If you have enough internal storage, consider removing some (or all) of the doors of the upper cabinet and paint everything the same color so it looks intentional (if everything is already the same, if not in color). I’m thinking about this in my new kitchen.

60 Small Kitchen Ideas To Maximize Your Space

Then on the left is my other love – my old party. See, I could put together a nice bistro table and two dining chairs and call it a day. But a) I like to complicate things for myself, but more b) I wanted to use as many square meters as possible – everyone should try to do this when designing a small space. Har. inch Accounts. Also, from experience, it made the area bigger. I had a bistro temporarily and it really felt smaller.

All the wooden pieces are made of scales! This meant that the front of each piece was already rounded. Now, I was very lucky that my dad had friends with big tools that could turn corners and sides with ease. But if you want to have a bank or a party between two walls, then you don’t have to worry! So my cousin and I made the reinforcements out of that blue velvet (no sewing machine needed) and the brass studs were Restoration Hardware curtains cut from my dad’s store. I will go into all the details in the original post, but I just wanted to show that even if you rent, there is still a lot you can do. Don’t let “I only rent” stop you from designing a home you’ll truly love.

My only regret in the kitchen (besides not doing anything on the floors) is that I didn’t have the amazing roman shade for the window. There’s always room for improvement, right? 🙂

Small Cottage Kitchen Ideas: 20 Design Tips For Small Spaces

Welcome to Velinda’s basement kitchen. He lives in an apartment, or as he politely puts it, “a little 400-square-foot hobbit house that sits above my 980-square-foot bungalow,” which he rents out. There are really a lot of ideas, so connect. First, let’s talk about the equipment. This little oven you see is actually a 5-in-1 oven! According to him, “it cooks, grills, bakes, bakes and microwaves … and can fit in a 24” cupboard. I’m so sorry to think it’s no longer available, but you can see what you can put together when it comes to appliances and small spaces.

What he did was clever and unusual, he took a standard size sink and turned it on its side. Let me tell you why:

“I didn’t want a standard, mini-kitchen sink. I wanted something that would fit in a pot or a dutch oven but also maximize counter space. So I moved the standard size sink to the side…which means that the drain is not in the center. I don’t know, but it used every inch allowed by this narrow 20-inch base cabinet. PLUS, it maximized the storage space below putting the garbage disposal (which was one of my must-haves) on one side instead of in the center, freeing up half the closet!

Smart right!!!! Also, note how he chose a wall faucet so that he did not need counter space when he turned the direction of the sink. It all seems so deliberate… because it is.

Velinda also said she chose those glazed Zellige tiles to reflect the light. This is a good way to make a space bigger. It’s like a mirror, but you don’t have to look at yourself! Basically, therefore, think twice before using matte tiles in a small kitchen.

Did you notice those nice skinny shelves too? Since it makes a bigger design statement with the tiled walls and hood, choosing those thin metal shelves was the perfect choice to not take up space, but not compromise the storage you need. Plus, they look great!

Little Velinda’s last kitchen trick (but read her whole post) are the metal bars she used as shelves to store her kitchen tools. One is a hand towel panel near the hood for heavier pans, and the other is a tie bar on the side of the cabinet. It was the perfect size, had plenty of hooks and helped free up drawer space. The kitchen must be an interesting size 🙂

Designing A Small Kitchen Without Sacrificing Functionality

Yes, I’m talking about those DIY vinyl tiles. How good does it look? And all this for less than $50! It’s not the only idea worth stealing, though
